Random thoughts and opinions from a true renaissance man…I gotta
apologize for letting my peeps wait so long…my mama always said I’ll
be late for my funeral…which when u think about it is not so bad.
Gotta give props to the Windy City White Sox for winning the World
Series ~ even tho the world doesn’t really participate ~ particularly
since the team had not won since near the turn of the century!!! But,
believe it or not, there are more pressing matters before us today…
I don’t know what it means that over 2,000
troops have given their lives thus far in the Iraq
War other than it’s tragic…the counting of
numbers of dead seem so irrelevant to the
overall purpose…the US kills more of them than
they kill, but have u noticed how killing them
does not seem to lessen the possibility that they
still killing US troops… Oct ’05 was the 4th
deadliest month since the US invaded the

country…if this conflict is such a success shouldn’t the number of
deaths be going down…the “War on Terrorism” is a JOKE! I’m sure
some plots to commit violent acts against the US have been
thwarted…but will a coupla armed guards standing at the entrance of
a train station or a stadium prevent suicide bombers who are not
only willing and able, but enthusiastically ready to die for their
cause…& ultimately part of the reason to avoid war is calculating
victory is based on killing enough of your enemies so that the enemy
is destroyed or prepared to surrender…do ya really think we can kill
em all and not motivate others to replace em…it’s nonsensical…& this
concept is so deplorable because it pits one human stranger against
another human stranger doing the bidding of a faceless, soulless
entity…to paraphrase Muhammad Ali when he refused induction, “I
ain’t got nuthin against no Viet Cong…” gotta send positive vibes out
to Ali who according to some reports is in failing health, but also was
recently honored with a Presidential Medal of Freedom. So, how
many of our soldiers knew anything about the country or the history
or the people of Iraq…it’s shameful…almost as shameful as this sham
presidency that now has a failed Supreme Court nominee and at
least one indicted senior advisor more shoes or appropriately, more
paper is gonna fall…it’s certainly easy to picture that sidetalkin VP
Cheney muttering to “Scooter” Libby about getting that Wilson guy
for exposing the falsehoods behind this administration’s rationale for
war…the vague & troubled strategies being implemented in the
Middle East can be exemplified by the fact that a white gal from
Texas who doesn’t even speak any of the region’s dialects is charged
with developing policy for the State Dept…what a joke. Now there is
no joking about the impact of Rosa Parks whose recent death was
marked by numerous remembrances, the unique & suitable US
Capitol Building Rotunda viewing and a 7-hour funeral service (yeah,
there’s a joke in there about the length of time, but I just can’t do it)
…it’s truly remarkable how a simple act of defiance became such a
powerful symbol and motivator of necessary change. Let us also pay
respects to the passing of C Delores Tucker branded as anti-hip hop
but who was in a position to be heard because of what she had
done for the civil rights of black people & women. Now change
clothes…put on a suit & taper it up…from Jay Z to the dress code for
NBA players …much ado about nuthin…why does hip hop culture
always get slammed by folks who like the parents in that Fresh
Prince joint just don’t understand…I have seen’t Jigga, Puffy, Nelly,
Fiddy, Snoop all wearing stylish threads that include jackets, ties &
shoes…so can we talk about the new play that Kobe is sporting…the
black compression stockings will soon be standard wear for the real
playas just the way C Webb & the Fab Five popularized baggy shorts
and AI made jailhouse braids fashionable…& mark this down, the
Lakers will make the playoffs. Ohhh, I’m dancing now…with phat
beats from Pharrell and Robin Thicke…yeah, Alan’s son is back with a
Prince-inspired track that Mr Nerd hisself lends a rap to called
“Wanna Love You Girl” and just 1 Thing…Ricky Martin is ready to
catch magic with my girl Amerie on that poppy “I Don’t Care” track
which they debuted on the David Letterman Show a few weeks ago.
And when u do switch on your TV or TiVo as the case may be, u gotta
be clockin Nip/Tuck cause they sho’ nuff drop it like it’s hot… and the
heat is on them gals on Making the Band 3…yeah, I love me some
Lori Ann & Aubrey has gotta make it…& who knew Reverend Run’s
House would be the lively old school hip hop version of the
Osbournes coupled with some good ole Cosby moments…ya gotta
check em out. Now buckle up kiddies & beware of this bird flu…but I
still plan to gobble, gobble on Thanksgiving…with a shout out to the
Boondocks on adult swim I thank you for your time this time until
next time
