The Return Of The Funky Divas!
The original funky divas En Vogue have burst
back onto the music scene with their new
album, "Soulflower," released in late

The girl group that paved the way for such
successful pop sensations as TLC and
Destiny's Child now consists of original
members Cindy Herron and Terry Ellis with
newly added vocalist Rhona Bennett.
The essence, style and character of En Vogue still remains,” says Cindy
Herron. “We’re just singing from the heart about real issues that affect all
of our lives.” "Soul Flower” is a fine collection of the diva trio’s trademark
harmonizing, something that has remained constant during their career,
that incorporates today’s beats and lyrical phrasing.

The first single, the peppy  “Ooh Boy”, gets this project off to a happy
start.  The ladies bring it down a notch with the catchy  “Ooh La La”,
“Stop”, and the soon to be listener favorite “Heaven Hasn’t Been The
Same”.

“Everyday” is an interesting tune that samples The Staple’s “Let’s Do It
Again”.  “Dissed Him” is a semi- ballad geared towards the hip-hop
generation, while “Nearly Lost’ and “Million Different Ways” are more
straight forward love songs.

We can’t wrap up this review without giving “props” to Denzil Foster and
Thomas McElroy, who have been the long time producers and visionaries
for En Vogue.  "This album gives a 2000 twist to the R&B and soul of the
70's," says group co-founder Denzil Foster.

Spring must be here because the “Soul Flower” has blossomed, and you’ll
enjoy the results.
