Born and currently based out of Boston, Massachusetts, Major is no stranger to the music industry. He is the son of the late Major Brooks Sr., lead singer for the Doo-Wopp Hall of Fame of America Lifetime Achievement Award winning group The Sophomores. As a result, he was exposed to many live performances of Doo Wopp and R&B groups, along with a diverse range of music while growing up.
As he grew older, his appreciation of music extended to the radio industry. During his years in college, he served as Music Director, Program Director, and General Manager of his college station WSCB-FM at Springfield College (MA). Upon returning to the Boston area, Major had tenures at WILD-AM and WCAS-FM.
“Jazz Expansions” has been produced and hosted by Major Brooks since 2003.
